Who does the Talmud say are the true sodomites?

The Real Sin of Sodom (According to the Talmud)

Rabbi David Greenstein of Congregation Shomrei Emunah, a Conservative congregation in Montclair, New Jersey, compared opponents of gay marriage to inhabitants of Sodom. "The real sin of Sodom," he said, citing the Talmud, is "to be opposed to someone deriving a benefit where their derivation of benefit causes no harm. People opposed to this bill are the true Sodomites."

Malleus Haereticorum said...: My initial, admittedly knee-jerk, reaction was: The Talmud is inherently Satanic; a rabbi's favorable interpretation thereof is inevitably equally so. True enough. But Greenstein's anti-theological and anti-historical perspective on Sodom brings to mind a host of qualifiers other than and ahead of "Satanic". These include, but are not limited to: "Ineptly self-serving", "delusional", and "fatuous". Take your pick...or add your own.; 2:48 PM
