Under pressure, Church of Scotland suppresses its critique of Zionism

By Michael Hoffman

The Church of Scotland, under pressure from the ‘British Board of Jewish Deputies’ has suppressed its own ten-page report, “The Inheritance ofAbraham,” exposing the ungodly and unscriptural claims of Zionism to the land of Palestine.

This astute and edifying report was issued only recently and then quickly withdrawn. Originally placed online at: http://www.churchofscotland.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0010/14050/Inheritance_of_Abraham_.pdf
and widely disseminated by Christians and Palestinians, those who visit the preceding URL now will get a “not found” notice.

We scoured the web and located at least one surviving source for the original, uncensored report:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/140597789/The-Inheritance-of-Abraham-A-report-on-the-promised-land
We recommend viewing or downloading the document soon since it may disappear from this URL as well.

Here below is a copy of the Church of Scotland’s cave-in to the inevitable pressure that is almost always exerted by the highly organized Nazi-Zionist lobby, against any effective exposure of the evil of Zionism and the Israeli imperium. The press release makes no mention of the fact that the original “Inheritance ofAbraham” report has been removed from the website of the Church of Scotland.

The Inheritance of Abraham? A report on the ‘promised land’

The Church of Scotland and representatives of the Jewish Community in Scotland and the United Kingdom, held useful discussions facilitated by the Council of Christians and Jews this afternoon, Thursday 8 May.

We agreed that the drafting of the report published by the Church and Society Council for discussion at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland has given cause for concern and misunderstanding of its position and requires a new introduction to set the context for the report and give clarity about some of the language used.

In particular the Church of Scotland needs to be explicit about some things that are implicit policies of the Church:

There is no change in the Church of Scotland's long held position of the right of Israel to exist.

The Church condemns all violence and acts of terrorism, where ever they happen in the world.

The concern of the Church about the injustices faced by the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territories remain firm, but that concern should not be misunderstood as questioning the right of the State of Israel to exist.

That the Church condemns all things that create a culture of anti-Semitism. There is an equal sense of concern amongst both communities for justice and peace for all the people of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Sitting round the table and listening to each other more deeply has created a real opportunity for both communities to better understand each other and that this report now becomes a catalyst for continued and growing conversation.

The two communities have agreed to work together both here and in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories to continue what was a very positive dialogue.

Neturei Karta True Torah Jews assert that Zionist Israel is NOT the "Homeland of the Jewish People", since the Jewish People are in Diaspora Judgment and are FORBIDDEN (by Yahweh) to have a "Homeland". Benjamin Freedman, in his 1961 and 1974 speeches, asserted that Zionist Israel is NOT populated and controlled by Jews but by descendants of Khazars - who were "converted" en masse to Judaism by a decision by their leader.

The premise that somehow (biblical or otherwise) Zionist Israel is legitimately occupied by Zionists and legally dispossessed Palestinians (violently) of their land, is a FALSE premise.

In other words, Zionist Israel has NO RIGHT TO EXIST! (never had and never will have). Yahweh's "Chosen People" (of the OT Covenant) are dispersed throughout the nations of the world. The "gathering" of the Zionists in Israel (by Yahweh) has only ONE purpose: Ezekiel 22:20.

Please don’t repeat the propaganda appellation of these rabbis - they are not “Torah True”-- unless you count the man-made word of their ersatz "Torah sheBeal Peh” as the Word of God. That is what they are referring to when they call themselves “Torah True.”

Many naive people parot this “Torah Tue” falsehood on their behalf, without checking its veracity.

I think we need to be careful when we make statements that all they are Khazars. Some in Israel are real Jews that have been there since the temple. I think that Sand denies the historicity of the Bible like the exodus and many other major historical events from the Bible. Sand has his own ax to grind. He promotes the idea of biblical history as fiction. Many of these scholars also rail against God as a ethnic cleansing tyrant for over throwing cities like Jericho. I would be careful when holding these types up as credible men. It is sad that this document was taken down from the web. These Jews have so much power in the west Frank from NJ

"Where did the Ten Lost Tribes go? North, perhaps, where they founded a place called Europe? Please read a rare book, “The Struggle for the Birthright” by Stephen Jones."

Pretty much like the bizarre theory of the Anglo-Israelits :-)

Seriously, Michael, I'm quite disappointed that a researcher who I saw as serious (you) is trying to defend this kind of low-class pseudo-science.

Have you read “The Struggle for the Birthright”? or are you dismissing it out of hand?

I recommend at least a perusal. This is not ”British Israel."

Here is the book:

I strongly recommend the last chapter of this book, "The Conclusion", which is probably the most bizarre justification for zionism that I've encountered in my life. Specially pages 155/156.

Do you know who Esau/Edom is in scripture?

Do you you imagine that an identification of the Zionists with Esau/Edom benefits the Zionists, their cause or their image?

It appears you do, and if that is the case, then res ipsa loquitor.

You have to give some credit to the mainline Protestant churches, such as the Church of Scotland, which have some far more sympathy with the plight of the Palestinians, than either the evangelicals or the Catholics (traditionalists excluded). The two primary Christian groups in the U.S. in terms of numbers have served as an Amen choir for Israel for decades. I left the Presbyterian Church (USA) over 20 years ago on its theological liberalism. However, they have been far more friendly to the Palestinians and critical of Israeli abuses than their evangelical (dispensational or not) or Catholic counterparts.
