Jeffrey Epstein was the central figure in Mossad’s blackmail operation, by which they controlled the U.S. government. But through his own malfeasance he had put Israel at risk. That bleak outlook called into play a little-known Talmudic option that is afforded to Jews in such a predicament. In Hebrew it is called din moser (“law of the informer”) and din rodef (“law of the pursuer”), and they are concepts found in the Babylonian Talmud (Tractate Sanhedrin, 73a). These are literally contract killings ordered by Jewish authorities against a Jew that is thought to have betrayed or will betray Jewish interests. The Epstein case had now involved the highest Jewish authorities in America and put their reputations and their constituencies in league with a truly rogue character who had outlived his strategic value.

Scholars have now acknowledged that the 1995 assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was just such a din rodef contract murder, ordered by a special court of Israeli rabbis. By conceding to the Palestinians land that many Jews believed was conferred to them by God Himself (in Genesis 15:17), Rabin was said to have betrayed the Jewish people. The assassin, rabbinical student Yigal Amir, justified his act on that very basis, telling police that he was acting on the basis of a rabbinical din rodef ruling. “Once something is a ruling, there is no longer a moral issue,” said Amir.

The Nation of Islam Research Group make a strong circumstantial case that the lynching of Leo Frank—the father of the ADL—was just such a din rodef contract murder (this is discussed in The Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, Volume 3, pages 328-330).

Last, Epstein’s alleged partner in procuring the blackmail bait (young girls) was Ghislaine Maxwell, whose father was Mossad agent and billionaire publishing/media magnate Robert Maxwell (real name: Ján Ludvík Hyman Binyamin Hoch). He was also “suicided” by Mossad—found floating in the ocean near his yacht.

30th Anniversary of The Great Holocaust Trial

On January 7, 1985 the seven week show trial of  German-Canadian dissident Ernst Zundel commenced in Toronto, Canada. The "Crown" prosecutor sought to have Zundel imprisoned for two years on a charge of disseminating "false news," a surrealistic "crime" in the eyes of the Queen of England (thank God for the American Revolution).

Ernst had published a book by an English author, Did Six Million Really Die? The full resources of the government were brought to bear against him for the purpose of imprisoning him. Zionist JDL terrorists were stationed outside the courthouse with the intention of beating or perhaps even killing the defendant, his legal defense team (Doug Christie, Keltie Zubko and Prof. Robert Faurisson) and an American reporter who had arrived at Zundelhaus the night before and took up residence there for the duration of the trial (yours truly).

The media initially mocked Zundel as a nut case, predicting the Crown prosecution team with its millions of Canadian taxpayer dollars would easily rout and demolish Zundel.

As I sat in the press gallery next to Kirk Makin of the Toronto Globe and Mail, television reporter Claude Adams, and the Simon Wiesenthal Center's agent, Zundel's defense team scored a historic coup. The trial produced numerous newspaper headlines and opened several national evening television newscasts which turned Canada upside down (other media, such as the New York Times chose only to cover the first and last days of the trial, with no references to the historic revelations elicited by Christie and Faurisson).

Unfortunately the presiding judge, Hugh Locke, was among the most biased of magistrates (the German revisionists in the courtroom drew unflattering comparisons between Locke and Roland Freisler, Hitler's hanging judge). Zundel was found guilty of the false news charge, a verdict which was eventually overturned by the Supreme Court of Canada.

The saga of Ernst Zundel is told in my book The Great Holocaust Trial, which for a time was banned and seized by Canadian Customs and is now banned by Amazon. It was updated in 1995 to cover the arson of Zundel's house in Toronto, and again in 2010 to report the seven years he served in Canadian and German prisons (much of it in solitary confinement), on charges related to his Internet publishing, over which the government of Germany claims universal jurisdiction.

Charlie Hebdo editor Stéphane Charbonnier in 2012 with the front page of his newspaper mocking an Islamic fundamentalist and an Orthodox rabbi. He was murdered today in France.

Today, on the thirtieth anniversary of the trial, I am signing a contract with a publisher for the translation of my book into French. This signing is all the more poignant in that in Paris today it is reported that two police officers and ten staff members of the French newspaper Charlie Hebdo — which has printed not just criticism of Islamic fundamentalism, as the corporate media is reporting, but also revisionist material, including satire of rabbinic extremists — were massacred.

All World War II revisionists are subject to death threats and violence. Prof. Faurisson was nearly beaten to death by Zionists in 1989, and Francois Duprat, a French revisionist teacher was killed in a  bombing in 1978, which severely wounded his wife. In 1984 the Institute for Historical Review's book warehouse was torched and completely destroyed. In 1985 my wife, the mother of three young children at the time, was chased down State Street in Ithaca, New York by a Zionist mob. She saved herself from a beating only by jumping into a car and locking the doors. As noted, Zundel's house was burned with impunity in 1995. Prof. Arthur Butz, author of The Hoax of the Twentieth Century, has been regularly menaced by thugs at Northwestern University.

For naive and dull-witted persons "Islam" is a monolithic enemy of freedom that must be countered in alliance with the "noble" Israelis. People with a bit more sense —  and knowledge of the operations of the secret services —  understand that enemies of Zionism can be liquidated and sympathy for the Israeli state generated, via spectacular terror attacks perpetrated by  Sunni-Salafists who are clandestinely directed by Mossad, the CIA, MI6 and similar shadow agencies.

An offending issue of Charlie Hebdo, satirizing sacred cows —  “ intouchables” (untouchables) — a Muslim fundamentalist and an exponent of the Talmud. The caption has them both saying, “Must not laugh at us!”

The French publisher of The Great Holocaust Trial will be as much in peril as the Charlie Hebdo people. This is the perpetual price that is paid by those who speak truth to power, beginning with the God-man who first spoke it to the Sanhedrin of Jerusalem some 2,000 years ago. Like the massacre in Paris of the Charlie Hebdo staff, which is being ascribed to Muslims alone, the crucifixion of Christ is nowadays blamed on the Romans alone. The French have a saying, plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

The Talmud and the Israeli secret police

...After decades of domination by secular centrists, there’s been a dramatic surge of religious nationalist youth — settlers and yeshiva graduates — in crack (Israeli) combat units. A decade ago, secret reports began circulating inside IDF headquarters indicating that with Orthodox youth comprising nearly a third of officers’ training course graduates, religious conservatives would form a plurality of senior field commanders within a decade. This summer they began to make their presence felt.

Exactly what that means isn’t yet clear. The generals praise their fighting spirit. But reports surface of officers and rabbi-chaplains urging the troops to a holy war against the enemies of God.

...Major General Herzl “Hertzi” Halevi... is the first Orthodox Jew to command IDF Military Intelligence. Together with Shin Bet director Yoram Cohen, two of Israel’s three top intelligence services are now commanded by Orthodox Jews.

That will become three out of three in 2016 if Prime Minister Netanyahu remains in office long enough to replace current Mossad director Tamir Pardo, as he’s reportedly planning, with his current national security adviser, Yossi Cohen.

...In the spring of 2010 he asked his Security Cabinet for authorization to attack Iran, but the unanimous opposition of the service chiefs — IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi, Mossad chief Meir Dagan, Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin and MI chief Amos Yadlin — convinced the cabinet to refuse. Infuriated, Bibi resolved to replace them. During the course of 2011 he ousted Dagan and Diskin. He also pushed for new faces in the IDF, which he doesn’t directly control.

The new crew, however, proved as bad — that is, moderate — as the old. That could explain why one position after another is now being filled by Orthodox Jews, whose views are, if not totally predictable, at least more likely to lean rightward.

The first was Yoram Cohen at Shin Bet. His appointment in 2011 caused a public uproar. The job had been promised to the agency’s No. 2, known as Y. However, Y headed the agency’s Jewish Division, tracking down settler radicals and interdicting so-called price tag attacks, which the State Department calls terrorism. As widely reported at the time, this alienated the settler leadership, which pressed for Cohen instead, and got him. Price tag incidents have since gone up. Arrests declined.

In 2012 Netanyahu tried to name Halevi, then commander of the Galilee Division, as his personal military secretary. Now came a showdown with IDF chief of staff Benny Gantz. It’s his job to offer nominees from which the prime minister chooses. Gantz wanted Halevi in another slot. Netanyahu, it’s said, wanted Halevi because of his background as an Orthodox Jew from a prominent Jerusalem Likud family. He lost.

Almost immediately he began pressing for Halevi to succeed (Major General Aviv) Kochavi at Military Intelligence. By late 2013 he’d won that fight. That summer he picked Yossi Cohen, another Orthodox Jew from an old Likud family, then serving as deputy chief of Mossad, to be his national security adviser, grooming him for Mossad chief.

The trend isn’t limited to the top slots. Israel’s military correspondents from left to right have been falling over each other throughout 2014 reporting on the Orthodox boom in the senior ranks. In January Haaretz’s Amir Oren caused a media furor with a report, titled “Dangerous Shin Bet,” that said three of the agency’s top four officials are Orthodox, including director, deputy director and chief of its Arab-Iran division.

...In February, Yohai Ofer of the right-wing daily Makor Rishon took on the Mossad. It had so many Orthodox senior agents that it hired an in-house rabbi to decide halachic questions like when Sabbath may be violated for an operation. In May, Amir Rappaport of the conservative Maariv published an overview of Orthodox leadership across the services. He said it was arousing a quiet furor within the security establishment. Kochavi’s battle for nuance on Hamas is the tip of an iceberg. In the end, the old guard can complain all they want. When the current process is done, nuanced evaluations of Hamas or Iran will be a thing of the past.  [End quote]

The notion that Israeli "operations" were more “nuanced" prior to the rise of Orthodox Talmudists inside the Israeli security and military establishment is a failed analogy. The Talmud has always driven the ideology of Zionism —  but indirectly —  through the amalgamation of secular Leftist messianism with Talmudic Judaism which was achieved by the man who founded Zionism and who Karl Marx termed "my rabbi” —  the remarkable Moses Hess. (I have a long study of Hess in my book Judaism Discovered).

What was slightly hopeful in the past about Israeli secularists is that they were sometimes capable of producing a real mensch, in the sense of an Israeli leader attempting to free himself from the twin shackles of Talmudism and Holocaustianity; that man was Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated by an admitted follower of the Talmud, and on halachic grounds.

With the rise of openly Talmudic Orthodox Judaics in the officer corps and the secret police, Israeli policies toward Palestinians will become progressively more savage. The 2000-odd Palestinians wiped out in the latest massacre-down-the-memory-hole is nothing compared with the bloodbath to come.

Because the Israelis have the unstinting support of the US Congress, the vast majority of the American media and tens of millions of Fundamentalist Protestants and neocon "Catholics," they are proceeding with an escalation of mass murder operations and land theft in defiance of European public opinion.

Palestinian blood will flow and their land will be stolen at higher rates than ever at the hands of the followers of the Babylonian Talmud, for whom all goyim are little more than, in the words of Chabad founder Rabbi Zalman, "supernal garbage."

But who cares? Turn on the glass toilet and watch a rerun of the latest "Holocaust" movie and weep for the victims of the 1940s Nazis. It is always 1940 in America.

George Bush ordered training in Nevada for terrorists

M.E.K. might be the most infuriating thing you will read about the global war on terrror today: The New Yorker's Sy Hersh reports that during the Bush years,  the U.S. military trained the Iranian opposition group even though it is and was on the State Department's list of foreign terrorist organizations. 

Members of M.E.K. (which translates to the People's Mujahedin of Iran) were trained at a U.S. base in the Nevada desert starting in 2005. 

More recently, as NBC's Richard Engel and Robert Windrem reported in February, they have been involved in the targeted assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists. Hersh adds in his report that while it's not known if those involved in the scientist killings are the same operatives as those who were trained in Nevada, Pentagon officials are impressed with how far M.E.K. has come. “The M.E.K. was a total joke,” a senior Pentagon consultant told Hersh, “and now it’s a real network inside Iran. M.E.K. now has a capacity for efficient operations than it never had before."

From the air, the terrain of the Department of Energy’s Nevada National Security Site, with its arid high plains and remote mountain peaks, has the look of northwest Iran. The site, some sixty-five miles northwest of Las Vegas, was once used for nuclear testing, and now includes a counterintelligence training facility and a private airport capable of handling Boeing 737 aircraft. It’s a restricted area, and inhospitable—in certain sections, the curious are warned that the site’s security personnel are authorized to use deadly force, if necessary, against intruders.

It was here that the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) conducted training, beginning in 2005, for members of the Mujahideen-e-Khalq, a dissident Iranian opposition group known in the West as the M.E.K. The M.E.K. had its beginnings as a Marxist-Islamist student-led group and, in the nineteen-seventies, it was linked to the assassination of six American citizens. It was initially part of the broad-based revolution that led to the 1979 overthrow of the Shah of Iran. But, within a few years, the group was waging a bloody internal war with the ruling clerics, and, in 1997, it was listed as a foreign terrorist organization by the State Department. In 2002, the M.E.K. earned some international credibility by publicly revealing—accurately—that Iran had begun enriching uranium at a secret underground location. Mohamed ElBaradei, who at the time was the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations’ nuclear monitoring agency, told me later that he had been informed that the information was supplied by the Mossad. 

The M.E.K.’s ties with Western intelligence deepened after the fall of the Iraqi regime in 2003, and JSOC began operating inside Iran in an effort to substantiate the Bush Administration’s fears that Iran was building the bomb at one or more secret underground locations. Funds were covertly passed to a number of dissident organizations, for intelligence collection and, ultimately, for anti-regime terrorist activities. Directly, or indirectly, the M.E.K. ended up with resources like arms and intelligence. Some American-supported covert operations continue in Iran today, according to past and present intelligence officials and military consultants.

Despite the growing ties, and a much-intensified lobbying effort organized by its advocates, M.E.K. has remained on the State Department’s list of foreign terrorist organizations—which meant that secrecy was essential in the Nevada training. “We did train them here, and washed them through the Energy Department because the D.O.E. owns all this land in southern Nevada,” a former senior American intelligence official told me. “We were deploying them over long distances in the desert and mountains, and building their capacity in communications—coördinating commo is a big deal.” (A spokesman for J.S.O.C. said that “U.S. Special Operations Forces were neither aware of nor involved in the training of M.E.K. members.”)

The training ended sometime before President Obama took office, the former official said. In a separate interview, a retired four-star general, who has advised the Bush and Obama Administrations on national-security issues, said that he had been privately briefed in 2005 about the training of Iranians associated with the M.E.K. in Nevada by an American involved in the program. They got “the standard training,” he said, “in commo, crypto [cryptography], small-unit tactics, and weaponry—that went on for six months,” the retired general said. “They were kept in little pods.” He also was told, he said, that the men doing the training were from JSOC, which, by 2005, had become a major instrument in the Bush Administration’s global war on terror. “The JSOC trainers were not front-line guys who had been in the field, but second- and third-tier guys—trainers and the like—and they started going off the reservation. ‘If we’re going to teach you tactics, let me show you some really sexy stuff…’ ”

It was the ad-hoc training that provoked the worried telephone calls to him, the former general said. “I told one of the guys who called me that they were all in over their heads, and all of them could end up trouble unless they got something in writing. The Iranians are very, very good at counterintelligence, and stuff like this is just too hard to contain.” The site in Nevada was being utilized at the same time, he said, for advanced training of élite Iraqi combat units. (The retired general said he only knew of the one M.E.K.-affiliated group that went though the training course; the former senior intelligence official said that he was aware of training that went on through 2007.)

Allan Gerson, a Washington attorney for the M.E.K., notes that the M.E.K. has publicly and repeatedly renounced terror. Gerson said he would not comment on the alleged training in Nevada. But such training, if true, he said, would be “especially incongruent with the State Department’s decision to continue to maintain the M.E.K. on the terrorist list. How can the U.S. train those on State’s foreign terrorist list, when others face criminal penalties for providing a nickel to the same organization?”

Robert Baer, a retired C.I.A. agent who is fluent in Arabic and had worked under cover in Kurdistan and throughout the Middle East in his career, initially had told me in early 2004 of being recruited by a private American company—working, so he believed, on behalf of the Bush Administration—to return to Iraq. “They wanted me to help the M.E.K. collect intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program,” Baer recalled. “They thought I knew Farsi, which I did not. I said I’d get back to them, but never did.” Baer, now living in California, recalled that it was made clear to him at the time that the operation was “a long-term thing—not just a one-shot deal.”

Massoud Khodabandeh, an I.T. expert now living in England who consults for the Iraqi government, was an official with the M.E.K. before defecting in 1996. In a telephone interview, he acknowledged that he is an avowed enemy of the M.E.K., and has advocated against the group. Khodabandeh said that he had been with the group since before the fall of the Shah and, as a computer expert, was deeply involved in intelligence activities as well as providing security for the M.E.K. leadership. For the past decade, he and his English wife have run a support program for other defectors. Khodabandeh told me that he had heard from more recent defectors about the training in Nevada. He was told that the communications training in Nevada involved more than teaching how to keep in contact during attacks—it also involved communication intercepts. The United States, he said, at one point found a way to penetrate some major Iranian communications systems. At the time, he said, the U.S. provided M.E.K. operatives with the ability to intercept telephone calls and text messages inside Iran—which M.E.K. operatives translated and shared with American signals intelligence experts. He does not know whether this activity is ongoing.

Five Iranian nuclear scientists have been assassinated since 2007. M.E.K. spokesmen have denied any involvement in the killings, but early last month NBC News quoted two senior Obama Administration officials as confirming that the attacks were carried out by M.E.K. units that were financed and trained by Mossad, the Israeli secret service. NBC further quoted the Administration officials as denying any American involvement in the M.E.K. activities. The former senior intelligence official I spoke with seconded the NBC report that the Israelis were working with the M.E.K., adding that the operations benefitted from American intelligence. He said that the targets were not “Einsteins." 

“The goal is to affect Iranian psychology and morale,”* he said, and to “demoralize the whole system—nuclear delivery vehicles, nuclear enrichment facilities, power plants.” Attacks have also been carried out on pipelines. He added that the operations are “primarily being done by M.E.K. through liaison with the Israelis, but the United States is now providing the intelligence.” An adviser to the special-operations community told me that the links between the United States and M.E.K. activities inside Iran had been long-standing. “Everything being done inside Iran now is being done with surrogates,” he said.

The sources I spoke to were unable to say whether the people trained in Nevada were now involved in operations in Iran or elsewhere. But they pointed to the general benefit of American support. “The M.E.K. was a total joke,” the senior Pentagon consultant said, “and now it’s a real network inside Iran. How did the M.E.K. get so much more efficient?” he asked rhetorically. “Part of it is the training in Nevada. Part of it is logistical support in Kurdistan, and part of it is inside Iran. M.E.K. now has a capacity for efficient operations that it never had before...”  (End quote; emphasis supplied).

*The lowering of the "morale" of the American people is also the "goal" of US and Israeli intelligence, so that Americans will fail to challenge evil and go along with a Romney (or Obama) presidency, and more useless, costly and terrorizing foreign wars on behalf of counterfeit "Israel," and the fevered war mania typified by the messianic complex of world-policing, American neconservative Zionists. --Michael Hoffman

Those “Iranian” Bombings

Soon after India agreed to buy Iranian oil and circumvent western sanctions against Iran, a car bomb attributed to Iran was detonated in India.

Today in Thailand, on China's doorstep, explosions are being blamed on an "Iranian national." Until now, China has refused to support a war on Iran.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast, stated: "Israel has bombed its embassies in New Delhi, India and Tbilisi, Georgia to tarnish Iran's friendly ties with the host countries," adding, "Israel perpetrated the terrorist actions to launch psychological warfare against Iran."

False flag operations are a means by which the secret services of nations like the Israeli entity and the US Federal government rule the world. The Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 and the 9/11 terror attacks are but two examples of this.

The media are complicit by reporting the bombings in India and Thailand according to the American/Israeli script, rather than stating the fact that the Mossad is an organization known to have mastered false flag "black ops," and then launching an investigation into the likelihood that the recent attacks attributed to Iran are the work of the CIA and/or the Mossad.

The psychological warfare includes constantly maintaining the American people in a pressure cooker of extreme anxiety over the likelihood of an imminent terror attack by supposed Iranian agents operating in the U.S.

This dose of ludicrous fear-mongering comes in the form of a nearly half-page editorial in the Wall Street Journal titled, “The Iranian Threat to New York City.” Like 9 years ago with Iraq, the media drums of war are again beating, this time for destroying the Iranian nation based on false flag bombs planted by the Mossad and CIA and blamed on Iran. 

The author, Mitchell D. Silber, the New York City Police Department’s chief of intelligence, writes the following gibberish: “As the West’s conflict with Iran over its nuclear program heats up, New York City — with its large Jewish population — becomes an increasingly attractive target.” This rhetoric is almost identical to Zionist propaganda in the New York Times ten years ago asserting a “mushroom cloud” over the U.S. if we didn’t stop Saddam Hussein.

Mr. Silber does not tell his frightened Wall Street Journal readers that Iran’s own Judaic community, which is entirely at the mercy of the government, lives in comfort and safety. Silber is giving advance cues to the American people so that if Mossad plants a bomb in a Judaic neighborhood in New York, the public will immediately surmise, “Iran’s behind it!” This is lynch mob thinking which the Wall Street Journal ought to denounce rather than enhance.

Record of Terror by U.S. and Israelis Dwarf Alleged Acts by Iran

Harvard University Prof. Steven M. Walt observes: "...two very capable states -- the United States and Israel -- threatening to attack a country that hardly seems worth the effort. The U.S. and Israel together spend more than $700 billion each year on their national security establishments; Iran spends about $10 billion. The U.S. and Israel have the most advanced military hardware in the world; Iran's weapons are mostly outdated and lack spare parts. The U.S. and Israeli militaries are well-educated and very well-trained; not true of Iran.

"The United States has thousands of nuclear weapons and Israel has several hundred, while Iran has a vast arsenal of -- zero. Iran does have a nuclear enrichment program (which is the reason for all the war talk), but the most recent National Intelligence Estimates have concluded that Iran does not presently have an active nuclear weapons program.

"The United States has several dozen military bases in Iran's immediate vicinity; Iran has exactly none in the Western hemisphere. The United States has powerful allies in every corner of the world; Iran's friends include a handful of minor nonstate actors like Hezbollah or minor-league potentates like Bashar al Assad (who's not looking like an asset these days) or Hugo Chávez.

"Moreover, the United States has fought four wars since 1990. It has bombed, invaded or occupied a half dozen countries in that period, leading to the deaths of thousands of people.

"Israel has been colonizing the West Bank since 1967, it invaded and occupied much of Lebanon from 1982 to 1999, and its armed forces pummeled Lebanon again in 2006 and Gaza in 2008-09.

"Prominent U.S. politicians have repeatedly called for "regime change" in Iran, and U.S. government officials now report that Israel has been murdering civilian scientists in Iran, in cahoots with the MEK, a terrorist organization that is still on the State Department's terrorist "watchlist." Iran's past conduct is far from pure, but it has done nothing remotely similar in recent years..."

As Prof. Walt points out, the United States and Europe are not actually threatened by Iran, even as we terrorize the Iranians with crippling sanctions, sabotage of their infrastructure and assassination of their scientists. All of these acts are, as Rep. Ron Paul has stated, acts of war.

Iran does threaten the status quo in two areas: in Palestine, where the rest of the world, including the Arab world, are sunk in complacency concerning the periodic masacres which the Israelis inflict and the ongoing theft and occupation of Palestinian land; and in countries such as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia which viciously repress Shiite populations. In Bahrain the Shia are a majority tyrannized by a Sunni minority.

Neither situation is any of our business. We should be sending medical and humanitarian aid and goodwill and cultural ambassadors to all sides in the Middle East, and otherwise taking a hands off approach to these never-ending religious wars which are none of our affair, especially in view of our "budget deficit."

Thanks to a Zionist-dominated American media however, and church leaders who teach that contemporary Israelis are genetic descendants of Abraham and the Israeli state is a Biblical (rather than a Talmudic) nation, we have a U.S. Congress which is Israeli-occupied territory.

Not all the fault is with the Traditional Enemies of Truth. For the past thirty years the Iranians and Syrians have done almost nothing to cultivate influence over the propagation and marketing of news and information in the United States. As a result of their neglect, quite naturally their enemies have obtained a monopoly on reporting conflicts to the American people.

If Iran does become a threat it will be due to the fact that we made them a threat and goaded them into attacking us, just as the administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt did to Japan on the eve of America's entry into World War Two (cf. Freedom Betrayed: Herbert Hoover's Secret History of the Second World War, edited by George H. Nash; and Day of Deceit by Robert B. Stinnett).

We’ve forgotten the lies that prodded us into war just nine years ago

In a speech by then President George W. Bush of October 7, 2002, Bush cited alleged Iraqi chemical, biological and nuclear programs - as well as concerns about possible Iraqi connections to international terrorist groups. With respect to how close Iraq was to developing a nuclear weapon, Bush said that "we don't know exactly." He went on to state that "If the Iraqi regime is able to produce, buy, or steal an amount of highly enriched uranium a little larger than a single softball, it could have a nuclear weapon in less than a year."

In the face of requests that the U.S. provide further evidence in support of its position that Iraq was failing to comply with U.N. resolution 1441 and that a resort to military force would be necessary unless Iraq's behavior changed, Secretary of State Colin Powell addressed the U.N. Security Council on Feb. 5, 2003. The bulk of Powell's remarks involved his presentation of "additional information about what the United States knows about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, as well as Iraq's involvement with Al Qaeda associates. In his February 5 presentation to the U.N. Security Council, Secretary of State Colin Powell charged that Iraq had begun constructing mobile facilities to produce biological weapons.

On September 8, 2002, the New York Times published a front page article by Michael Gordon and Judith Miller about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction which was one of the most serious cases of misreporting in the entire run-up to the war. The piece provided a major boost to the administration’s case for war and proved to be wrong in almost every detail.

Michael Massing writes: "It was the prospect of Saddam Hussein’s getting an atomic bomb that caused the most fear about his regime, and it was this fear that the Bush administration most sought to fan as it pushed the case for war. Yet it had little concrete evidence to show that Iraq was actively seeking a bomb. Enter the New York Times. In that September 8 story, Gordon and Miller, leaning heavily on Bush officials, offered the aluminum tubes as evidence that Iraq was actively seeking a nuclear weapon. The article did not simply raise this as a possibility — it asserted it in bold and unequivocal language. 'US Says Hussein Intensifies Quest for A-Bomb Parts' ran the headline. Iraq, the lead declared, 'has stepped up its quest for nuclear weapons and has embarked on a worldwide hunt for materials to make an atomic bomb, Bush administration officials said today."

Another New York Times report by government mouthpieces Gordon and Miller, published on Sept. 13 was heavily slanted to the CIA’s position. It iced out critics of the claims that Iraq was trying to gain nuclear weapons and insulted the critics, trivializing and dismising them. Prior to Sept. 13 David Albright of the Institute for Science and International Security warned Judith Miller concerning her support for CIA claims. He states: "...an administration official was quoted as saying that 'the best' technical experts and nuclear scientists at laboratories like Oak Ridge supported the CIA assessment. These inaccuracies made their way into the story despite several discussions that I had with Miller on the day before the story appeared — some well into the night. In the end, nobody was quoted questioning the CIA’s position, as I would have expected."

Massing notes "...the Times‘s heavy reliance on official sources and its dismissal of other sources...on the critical issue of whether Iraq was actively seeking a nuclear bomb, the International Atomic Energy Administration (IAEA) had found strong indications that it was not. And how did the Times cover these key statements? With two short, pro forma stories buried inside the A section...The Times ran three front-page stories on Colin Powell's speech to the U.N. Security Council speech, one by Michael Gordon...Gordon offered unqualified praise for Powell's assertions about Iraq’s WMD. 'The case Mr. Powell presented today regarding Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction' was 'remorseless,' Gordon wrote. “Even the skeptics,” he added, 'had to concede that Mr. Powell’s presentation had been an important milestone in the debate. Critics may try to challenge the strength of the administration’s case and they will no doubt argue that inspectors be given more time. But it will be difficult for the skeptics to argue that Washington’s case against Iraq is based on groundless suspicions and not intelligence information.'

"On the nuclear issue, Gordon wrote, Powell 'presented new details to buttress the administration’s case;' in particular, he cited Powell’s claim that the United States 'has intercepted aluminum tubes that had a special coating that would make them useful for making centrifuges to enrich uranium.' Remarkably, Gordon did not see fit to mention the IAEA findings that undermined this claim and that he, Gordon, had twice written about in the previous month. So, at this key juncture in the debate on Iraq, Gordon uncritically transmitted a key US claim, one that the inspectors had effectively discredited. In the light of such reporting, is it any surprise that the IAEA findings had such limited impact?"

Doomed to repeat ruinous scripts from past wars

The American people continue to maintain faith in the credibility of the corporate media and as a result of this willful gullibility, they are on a nightmarish merry-go-round, doomed to repeat ruinous scripts from past wars like the war with Iraq, which was fought on the basis of a barrel of (now forgotten) lies about weapons of mass destruction and Iraqi tries to Al Qaeda.

Any armed resistance against Israeli occupation on the part of national liberation organizations such as Hezbollah, which years ago liberated the El Khiam concentration camp in Lebanon from the control of the Israeli proxies who ran that hellhole, is considered "terrorism." In the eyes of the West the sacred nation of fraudsters who deceitfully call themselves "Israel" cannot be opposed by force of arms. Shiite Islam views the Israelis as Nazis and uses the same tactics against them which the much hallowed partisans of World War Two employed against the Germans.

America's Talmudic mentality will not entertain the analogy however: bombing German Nazis is considered heroic; bombing Israeli Nazis is regarded as the lowest form of demonic evil. Unfortunately for the Zionist occupiers of the U.S. government and media, much of the rest of the world doesn't buy this Talmudic double-standard.

We doubt that the recent spate of bombings on the doorstep of China and Russia, and in India's backyard, will be viewed by the governments of those nations as Iranian in origin.

What a coincidence that the three nations most sympathetic to Iran are suddenly experiencing "Iranian" bombings within or near their territory.

Wall Street Journal Reporter Responds to Hoffman’s charges

In yesterday’s On the Contrary column we took the Wall Street Journal to task for omitting important contextual facts in  the newspaper’s reporting on the “opposition movement” in Iran ("Iran opponents said to be jailed," Wall Street Journal, March 1).

The reporter who wrote the "Wall Street Journal" article has responded. Our rejoinder follows the reporter’s reply.

Is it “Iran’s government” that put this forth, or Seymour Hersh?

Is it a "conspiracy theory" that the Mujahideen-e-Khalq, known in the West as the M.E.K. has been on the State Department’s terrorist list for more than a decade, yet in recent years the group has received arms and intelligence, directly or indirectly, from the United States government?

Is it a "conspiracy theory" that the Israelis are on record seeking the overthrow of the Iranian government?

Is it a "conspiracy theory" that "The Telegraph" newspaper reported:

"Israel has launched a covert war against Iran as an alternative to direct military strikes against Tehran's nuclear program...The most dramatic element of the 'decapitation' program is the planned assassination of top figures involved in Iran's atomic operations...Reva Bhalla, a senior analyst with Stratfor, the US private intelligence company with strong government security connections, said the strategy was to take out key people....'Without military strikes, there is still considerable scope for disrupting and damaging the Iranian program and this has been done with some success,' said Yossi Melman, a prominent Israeli journalist who covers security and intelligence issues for the Haaretz newspaper." ("Israel launches covert war against Iran," The Telegraph [UK], Feb. 16, 2009).

Is it “Iran’s government” that put this forth, or “Haaretz" newspaper and "The Telegraph" newspaper?

By pretending that the U.S. and Israel have no programs in place to overthrow the government of Iran, you give the false impression that Iran is secure from foreign subversion and terror and that the controversy over the opposition movement is an internal matter.

You are reporting the Iranian opposition movement in a vacuum. You serve the neocon agenda, not the truth.

Wall Street Journal reporting on Iran Omits Important Facts

re: "Iran opponents said to be jailed" (Wall Street Journal, March 1)

In your article in the Wall Street Journal on the arrest of Iranian opposition figures Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, why didn't you elaborate on charges by pro-government forces that the dissidents are agents of, or at the very least, used by American and Israeli Zionism?

Surely you are aware that the overthrow of the Iranian government is a high priority in Jerusalem and Washington, and that both George W. Bush and Obama have authorized CIA covert operations inside Iran, as well as the fact that the Iran government is being targeted by terrorists. For example, Iranian scientist Majid Shahriari was killed by a bomb and a second scientist, Fereydoon Abbasi, was seriously injured in Tehran on Nov. 29. Dr. Abbasi's wife was also killed in the bombing.

None of these facts are mentioned in your reporting.

By omission, you give the false impression that Iran is secure from foreign subversion and terror and that the whole controversy is an internal matter.

The Prime Minister's Office on Wendesday denied any Israeli role in the assassination of Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Imad Mughniyah, who was killed in a bomb blast in Damascus late Tuesday night.

"Israel rejects the attempt by terror groups to attribute to it any involvement in this incident," said the PMO in a statement. "We have nothing further to add."

Former Mossad chief Danny Yatom on Wednesday welcomed Mughniyah's death, calling it "a great achievement for the free world in its fight on terror."

"Mughniyah was one of the most dangerous and cruel terrorists of all time," said the Labor MK. "There are numerous intelligence agencies and countries that have been pursuing him, and the one that was successful in reaching him [has proven itself] - to have a high intelligence and operational capability."

Yatom called Mughniyah's death a serious blow to Hezbollah, both in terms of morale and in terms of its operational capabilities, saying the assassination could only have been made possible by penetrating deep into the organization.

"Whoever can take him out can take out anyone in Hezbollah," he said. "It will take Hezbollah a long time to find an heir."

"Mughniyah was responsible for the deaths of many Jews, Israelis, Americans, and was solely and directly responsible for Hezbollah attacks abroad, through close cooperation with Iran," he said.

Environment Minister Gideon Ezra, formerly a senior intelligence officer, also hailed the killing of the top Hezbollah commander. "I, of course, do not know who carried out the assassination of Imad, but he should be blessed," he said.

Hamas slammed the assassination. "We condemn this crime and we emphasize the Muslim nation must rise up to confront the Zionist devil which is back by the Americans," said a Hamas spokesman in Gaza, Samir Abu Zuhri.
