From a Syrian correspondent:
Dear Michael,
The Syrian ambassador, Imad Mustapha, described it well. He said Israel considers the Palestinians and Lebanese subhuman.
Hoffman replies:
The doctrine that the gentiles are subhuman has been taught since the Tannaitic period of rabbinic Judaism. It forms the central plank of the halakha as formed by Rabbi Shimon ben Yohai, whose grave in "Israel" is a national pilgrimage site.
