It has most preserved its sovereignty.

Of all the EU members, it is Britain that gives the smallest proportion of its GDP to Brussels. If UK complains about draining itself to EU, Germany has to scream. And much of what the British give, they get back through subventions of their farmers and industry and science…

The immigration that Britain receives from EU is the crème of the human resources of Eastern Europe. There is nothing Christian or prudent in ignoring the brain drain and the life drain of Eastern Europe and the overall social situations in that part of the continent. The British public does ignore them.
It is the British who control and allow half the immigration into UK - the one from other continents, the half which is much less Christian, white & culturally attuned, and which proceeds unabated for over half a century absolutely independently of Brussels.

It is British elites that have the financial controls most of the UK economy. And it is a part of the same British elites that initiated and led the campaign of leaving EU.

Leaving EU, UK is on its way to fall under direct domination of that entity across the Atlantic that is the chief world promoter of brutality and globalism. The idea that Britain would better resist that influence alone seems implausible.
The British elites successfully manipulated the public dissatisfaction to deflect from the issue of their own responsibility.

I see the recent events in Britain as just one more instance of revolution-promoting instigated by greedy demagogues, outlined by Spengler in “The Hour of Decision,” 1933. As I read it, I see a continuum from the French Revolution, via Communist revolutions, to the British referendum to exit EU.

Also, I’m reminded of the truism that … No freedoms can be won at the ballot box. … even “with a howl of rage and frustration.”

(Doing that is exactly following the demagogues’ script. )

Liberties demand a life-consuming struggle, including self-development through that struggle.

(And with sufficient self-development through struggle, one recognises freedoms to be just a shadow of the really most important thing in life: responsible service. )

Writing from Eastern Europe, where no one close to me even thinks of moving to the West,

JR
JRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09891487498952114173noreply@blogger.com
