This particular chapter of Chabad is based in NYC and raises millions of dollars and works out of a little room that they call their house of worship. The majority of the money raised where it goes is a very big question. I was once a member of this particular group and left as I had a question about how the "rabbi" could afford a brownstone on the upper east side, a country house, and lots of domestic help.If you also Google him there are many lawsuits against him.
